Philanthropy
Lambda Sigma Gamma believes in well-rounded women who get involved in their community. Our official philanthropy is the National Head Start Program, which was adopted by our organization in 1989. Head Start provides health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low income children and their families.

Sisters also get involved with other philanthropic organizations and attend other volunteer events within Orange County as well. This includes soup kitchens, charity walks, and beach clean ups. Annually, all chapters attend Teddyland Carnival, a kid's carnival that provides fun and games for children in under-priveledged schools.

GRID AlternativeGRID Alternative is another organization our sisters at UC Irvine partner with. They have given us the opportunity to learn about solar panels, get hands on in our community, and learn new ways to get natural resources and parlay them into energy that we can use for the future!
Second Harvest Food BankThe Second Harvest Food Bank provides meals for seniors, children, individuals, and families. As another partnered organization, we help sort and package fruits, vegetables, dairies, and much more. We also help them by donating various perishables to help feed those in need.

Family Autism NetworkThe Family Autism Network has partnered with Chapman University and Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders to create a social event for young adults with autism and their caregivers. Here at UC Irvine, we are partnered up with a young adult and get to spend the afternoon playing games, having conversations, eating, dancing, and having fun!
Love LaundryLove Laundry takes place on every 3rd Thursday of month in Santa Ana. Love Laundry provides homeless or low income families with free detergent, washing, and drying. As our civic responsibility, we get involved by inserting coins to the machines, add soap, and interact with the children and adults.
